Am in the process of having someone program count-down counter on my site so form will shut down automatically when maximum number of requests have been reached.
Emailed someone to request help for tougher requests and to provide general guidance. This should be a boost if someone helps in this way.
Looked at a number of note taking and research software packages to assist those looking through research requests. Evernote seems to be the neatest package so far, though it exports only in xml. Copying and pasting a whole note doesn't take the source html with it, so it isn't that great for writing research reports.
OnFolio is a package with more features, that allow dragging notes to a report, then allow that report to be published to the web. It also handles references in the Academic and Scientific version. The problem is that it is quite expensive, coming in at $149 US. For the serious researcher, however, it could be a big help.
For now, cutting and pasting text and links into a report or email seems to be the best and cheapest way to go.
